CT Tech - Radiology

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Facility Type: 294-bed hospital, Joint Commission Accredited
  • Department: Radiology (CT Specialty)
  • Shifts Available:
    • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
    • 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
    • 3rd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 9:30 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Weekly Hours:
    • 40 hours for 2nd and 3rd shifts and Monday-Friday day shift
    • 36 hours for weekend days (Friday-Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Call Requirements: Every 4th weekend from Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM (applies to 2nd, 3rd, and Monday-Friday day shifts)
  • Patient Population: Geriatric, adult, and pediatric
  • Equipment: GE imaging systems
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech (experience preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in North Carolina
  • CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
  • ABCP certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Associate’s degree
  • Proficient in 3D post-processing

Additional Information

  • Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; tee shirts without lab coat are not acceptable
  • Unit Trauma Level: 2
  • Number of Openings: 4
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions available
  • Location Highlights:
    • Approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC
    • Close to major universities and local attractions

Pros

Doctors and most of staff are nice. Surgeries are not hard.

Cons

No staff so a lot of call. You will be on call within your first week or two, even if you don't know how to do anything. Unorganized. The director and supervisor don't know anything about the OR nor are they helpful. New staff are not properly trained. Everything falls on the OR nurse to do. They preop in house patients getting surgery. A couple of OR staff are bullies and lazy, they all think they are the boss. They tell the charge nurse what they are going to do and not going to do. Its like high school all over. Had to leave out of fear for my license.
