ICU Float Pool RN

Overview

• ICU Float Pool RN in Phoenix, Arizona
• 13-week contract
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 2 years of ICU experience
• Level I trauma experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• Cerner EMR experience
• Must be able to read a tele strip
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam within 2 attempts before contract start
• Must complete onboarding by the stated deadline
• Must not work another assignment/contract at the same time
• Must have been gone from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment
• Must have their own vehicle
• Must be willing to float among all ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units, including sister campuses Westgate in Glendale and AZ General Laveen
• Must be able to function independently when floated to an outside area
• Must accept that floating cannot be refused
• Must be competent with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must be able to complete bedside reports and a 2-person skin assessment within the first 4 hours of the shift
• Must be able to work required weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS
• Level I trauma center experience
• Teaching hospital experience

Unit Details

• ICU Float Cluster includes Tower 2, Tower 4, and 4 Neuro
• Tower 2: medical, surgical, and trauma patients; 1:2 ratio
• Tower 4: cardiothoracic ICU specializing in lung transplants and ECMO; 1:2 ratio
• 4 Neuro: neuro-specific ICU; 1:2 ratio
• Tele ratio: 1:4

Schedule

• 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holidays required based on unit needs
• Schedule is posted 4 weeks in advance and may change 2 weeks in advance based on hospital needs
• No call
• Standby response time: 30 minutes
• 2 shifts of orientation, with a third shift only as needed
