Radiation Therapist - Oregon, Grants Pass

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
• Work Setting: Outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic
• Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs; no open-toed shoes; employer-branded T-shirt or scrub top allowed
• Team Structure: Two therapists work together on each treatment machine; therapists do not work alone
• Floating: No floating; dedicated to Radiation Oncology department only
• Orientation: 3-5 days of shadowing and training with experienced Radiation Therapists to get up to speed

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver external beam radiation therapy patient treatments using Varian TrueBeam and Elekta Infinity treatment machines
• Perform CT scans (full-time Radiation Therapists only; locum therapists focus on patient treatments)
• Use Mosaiq record and verify system for treatment documentation
• Follow general Radiation Oncology Therapist duties related to patient treatment delivery

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in external beam radiation therapy patient treatment delivery, specifically with TrueBeam machine
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
• Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) licensure

Additional Information

• Weekends are generally not required unless there is an unusual circumstance such as machine downtime during the week requiring patient treatment on weekends (rare and on doctor’s call)
