Cath Lab RN Position - West Virginia

Job Details

• Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Call Requirement: Approximately 10-11 days per month, including holidays and weekends (Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
• Team Structure: 3-person team (2 RNs and 1 Cath Lab Tech)
• Floating: May float to Non-Invasive Cardiology to start IVs

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology
• Facilities: 7 suites/holding rooms and 2 cath labs (2 bays and 5 rooms)
• Average Cases: 4-5 per day (range 2 to 9)
• Common Procedures: Adult cardiac cases including peripheral, catheterization, PCI, device implants (ICD, pacers); no electrophysiology or ablations
• Equipment:

  • EMR: Cupid (EPIC & Dynamics system)
  • Telemetry: Phillips hardwired bedside monitors
  • Pharmacy: Omnicell system with some meds mixed in lab
• Scrubs Provided: Navy blue for RNs

Required Certifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
• Skills: Experience with IABP and IVUS required; familiarity with Acist injector preferred but not mandatory (training provided)

Orientation & Training

• Two shifts with a preceptor followed by a "buddy call" in the Cath Lab

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Licensure: Valid RN license for West Virginia
• Call Response: Required during call shifts
• COVID-19: Fully vaccinated required (2 Moderna/Pfizer or 1 J&J); medical or religious exemptions require approval
• Submission Requirements:

  • Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
  • Disclosure of any background issues at time of submission
  • Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years
  • Previous travelers must have been gone for 2 years after 1 full year of travel at this facility
• Additional: Cardiologist on call 24/7; respiratory therapists called in ICU if needed; charge nurse acts as resource nurse and may assist with cases
