Job Overview

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of core experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or related specialty
  • Trauma Experience: Level I Trauma experience required; Level II Trauma experience will be screened if busy
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required for ED and Neuro ICU, but not explicitly stated for Cath Lab RN
  • Certifications:
    • RN: Arizona RN License, BLS, ACLS required
    • Techs: Arizona ARRT and MRTBE, BLS, ACLS required

Work Schedule & Shifts

  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Holidays: Included in rotation
  • Orientation: 2 days floor-specific orientation on the job
  • Weekly Orientations: Mondays (except holiday weeks)

Job Duties & Environment

  • Role: RN circulates; Techs must be able to scrub (Cath Lab will not consider tech/RN teams)
  • Cases: 10-25 cases per day including interventional, EP lab, peripherals, mitral clip, TAVR, IABP, and Emtala placement
  • Equipment: Use of Phillips and Siemens equipment; Telemetry via Phillips
  • Support Staff: Charge Nurse present; Nurse aides are rad techs (circulating and scrub, BLS certified) covering Endo and CVOR
  • Parking: Assigned parking lot with shuttle to facility; night shift assigned to parking garage
  • Additional Notes: No facial piercings or unnatural hair colors allowed; must not hold concurrent contracts; must have been off CommonSpirit permanent staff for 12 months to qualify for travel assignment

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete onboarding by 1 PM CST Wednesday before start date; incomplete files will delay start
  • Travel teams must have their own vehicles
  • Teaching hospital environment with nursing students expected
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
