Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU Pediatrics

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Position Overview

Provide nursing care under general supervision to a variety of pediatric patients with cardiovascular intensive care needs, ranging from simple to complex conditions.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the specialty

Education Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (preferred)

Certifications & Licensure

Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Key Responsibilities

Manage an assigned group of patients in the CVICU Pediatrics unit
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary
Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families
Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and discharge plans
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Basic computer skills
Ability to maintain good working relationships with other healthcare staff
