CT Tech Position – Colorado, Lafayette

Job Summary

• Perform a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
• Use independent judgment and initiative to produce high-quality scans.
• Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Prepare patients for exams, verify orders, and ensure proper patient identification.
• Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
• Administer contrast media under physician or radiologist supervision and educate patients on safety.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures and any incidents.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, and quality control.
• Provide patient education, comfort, and address concerns.
• Assist and instruct students and other technologists.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with CT technology and protocols.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate degree required.

Certifications & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (ARRT (R)).
• State licensure as applicable.
• ARRT CT certification is required.
• Radiation badge required (provided by supplier preferred).

Experience

• 1 to 2 years of CT experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of healthcare experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in CT equipment operation and CT imaging techniques.
• Knowledge of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning.
• Familiarity with contrast administration protocols and contrast injector operation.
• Ability to view, transfer, and manipulate electronic images.
• Recognize and respond to emergent patient situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills with patients and caregivers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Evening, Monday through Wednesday, 12:00 PM to 12:30 AM (12-hour shifts).
• Total hours per week: 36.
• Rotating on-call duties and assigned holidays.

Additional Information

• Fluoroscopy certification is preferred for caregivers hired in Colorado.
• Emphasis on maintaining radiation safety and infection control practices.
• Prior travel experience is not specified or required.
