X-Ray Technician (0-2 Years) - Contract

Location: New York, NY
Contract Length: 9 weeks (61 days)
Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Job Summary

Operate or oversee radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxiety by explaining treatments and answering questions.
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls for radiological procedures.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff using protective techniques and devices.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality and production of radiographs by processing images and making necessary adjustments.
• Document patient care services and verify exam completion in records.
• Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain equipment inventory.
• Monitor and anticipate radiology supply needs.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional societies.
• Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• New York State Department of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT Certification required.
• Competency in diagnostic radiologic procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong focus on quality, dependability, and creating a safe, effective environment.
• No prior experience required (0-2 years acceptable).
