• Patient Ratio: 2 patients per RN
• Floating: Med Surg unit
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts floor-specific orientation

Work Environment & Patient Care

• Common Patient Types: Stroke patients (including TPN administration), STEMI, non-STEMI
• Drips Administered: Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, Vasopressors
• Ventilator: Hamilton C-1
• Support Staff:

  • Nurse aides as needed
  • Tele/Monitor techs available
  • Respiratory Therapist onsite until 6pm, on-call with 10-minute response after
  • Pharmacy in-house until 10pm, remote coverage after
• Charge Nurse: None
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: 7 major holidays observed, with work scheduled accordingly
• EMR Systems: Paragon-Hospital, Allscripts Touch Works-Clinis

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS
• TNCC

Additional Notes

• Scrub colors: Royal Blue for RN, Steel Gray for CNA
• Hospitalist available in-house
• Nurses may be required to float to Med Surg unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license for Minnesota
• Minimum ICU experience (not explicitly stated, but implied by specialty)
