Perform all pulmonary function testing modalities in the Pulmonary Function Lab.
Assist in developing and implementing new testing procedures, equipment, and policies.
Oversee and train respiratory therapy students during clinical rotations in the lab.
Participate in biologic control testing and clarify ambiguous testing orders.
Maintain compliance with documentation and charge policies.
Assist with daily transaction activity reports and monthly statistics compilation.
Ensure accurate patient registration in accordance with CMS policies.
Communicate effectively with medical staff, providers, and ambulatory care offices for scheduling and coordination.
Provide patient appointment confirmations and testing instructions when needed.
Assist with supply ordering and inventory control to maintain budget.
Monitor daily operation of the Blood Gas Lab to ensure adherence to CAP guidelines.
Prepare, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot pulmonary function testing equipment.
