Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Acute Long Term Care (Nights)
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Job Summary
The RN provides direct and indirect nursing care to residents in a therapeutic environment, partnering with residents and other care providers. Units include:
- 3 East: 31-bed specialized unit for Alzheimer’s/dementia residents, focusing on verbal and non-verbal communication and managing difficult behaviors as valid communication.
- Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: 42-bed short-term skilled nursing and rehab unit for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short-term illnesses or injuries. Nursing care includes IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment/management.
- 3 West: 42-bed long-term care unit providing home-like environment care for residents needing long-term placement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Long Term Care experience, including experience within the last year
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
- Previous employees and candidates with licensure conflicts will not be considered
