Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of hospital setting experience to work in an inpatient rehab unit. The unit specializes in neuro rehab including stroke evaluation and treatment.
Unit Details
- Unit Type: Rehab Therapy
- Number of Beds: 44
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Staffing: 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, 1 tech
- Equipment: Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, Diego
- Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7am-5pm; rotating weekends
- Floating Policy: May float to acute hospital if rehab census is low
- Patient Experience: Use of AIDET communication and immediate service recovery
- Certifications: Joint Commission Stroke Certification
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS Certification
- OTR Certification
Skills and Procedures
- Manual therapy for neuro re-education
- Therapeutic exercise
- Functional activity training
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Self-care training
- Functional electrical stimulation (e-stim)
Work Hours
- 36 hours per week
Dress Code
- Black scrub bottoms and royal blue top preferred
Additional Information
- Candidates may be required to float to acute care if rehab census is low
- Emphasis on patient communication and service recovery standards
