Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Tele RN
• Shift: Rotating D/N shifts (3x12's, 7pm-7:30am/7am-7:30pm)

  • Typically consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.
• Licensure:

  • Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand.

Certifications Required

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday.
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (acceptable scores required).
• Government-issued photo ID required while on assignment.

Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Must be within a year of start.
• Fit Mask: Required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years.
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months of start.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer.
  • Varicella vaccination or titer.
  • MMR vaccinations or positive titer.

Background and History Checks

• Background check required prior to start.
• References: 2 references required from employment within the last year.
• Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting.

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Skills checklist required annually.

Onboarding Process

• Completion of online training modules prior to start.
• Fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum of 18 months (1.5 years) of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
