Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Belleville, Illinois
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 36 hours per week
• Start date: 3–4 weeks per compliance tier, with biweekly starts
• 13-week contract
• Ratios: 1:3
• First-timers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• May float between Belleville and East, and to inpatient floors if needed
• Locals not accepted; local radius is 75 miles
• No on-call
• No block schedule
• RTO restriction: 7 days within the 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Illinois
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Experience with central line management
• Experience with arterial lines
• Chest tube insertion
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia
• Experience with ventilator management
• Two professional references required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
• Unit-specific competency exam required
• Color blind testing required
• Employment application required

Preferred

• CPI
• TNCC
• Supervisors within the last year are preferred as references

• Emergency Room
• Acute care hospital
• Magnet facility
• 222 staffed beds

Clinical Notes

• Special requirements include central line insertion, arterial lines, chest tubes, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, intubations, code strokes, code STEMI, code blue team response, trauma patients, pediatric patients and transfers, sexual assault cases, and mental health patients awaiting placement
