Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
- 36 hours per week
- Staffing ratio: 1:2
- First week orientation is 5x8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday; additional orientation, if needed, is at 12-hour shifts
- On-call required: 4 call shifts per 13-week contract
- No holiday requirement
- Scrubs are provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- CVOR (3 years of experience)
- CVOR experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to scrub and circulate cardiac surgery
- Experience with CABGs, aortic/mitral valve repairs and replacements, heart transplants, dissections, and LVADs
- Experience with vascular/thoracic surgery including EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, and open AAA
Additional Information
- May float to other OR services when Cardiac volume is down, including General, Urology, and ENT
- First-time travelers are accepted with appropriate experience
- Scrubs are provided

Pros
Some of the nurses in the MICU are some of the best people I have ever met. Very high acuity patients but I learned a lot. Amazing teamwork and camaraderie
Cons
The facility is literally falling apart and staffing is terrible sometimes. Management is not as great and supportive as it used to be. Patient population can be difficult to work with (lots of ETOH, withdrawal, ODs, etc)
