Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in Charlotte, North Carolina
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 20 weeks

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Neuro experience
- Ability to titrate LEVO (levophed)
- Ability to titrate cardiac drips
- Ability to titrate vasoactive drips
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- TR Band (transradial band) management
- IV insulin protocols
- Titration of insulin drips
- Feeding tube care and management
- Experience with Epic
Required Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry monitoring on the unit
- Use of Rapid Response / Code teams
- TR Band
- IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
- Feeding tube care and management
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Pre/post hemodialysis management
- Blood product administration
- Central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Heparin protocols
- PCA
- Thrombolytic agents
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Neurological care including aneurysm repair, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, lumbar drains, post-TPA care, pre/post neurosurgery, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury
- Surgical drains
- Respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and tracheostomy care
- Isolation precautions/PPE
- Wound care / wound vac
Schedule and Unit Details
- No call required
- Weekend requirement: minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- Float requirement: other intermediate areas and critical care/ICU-stepdown patients
- Ratio: 1:4
- Unit census: up to 24 patients
- Orientation: 32 hours total, including an 8-hour computer class and two unit shifts
Additional Notes
- EPIC experience is required
- Scrubs are not provided; navy blue and white are acceptable
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Candidate must interview before an offer is made
