Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Details

• Start Date: April 13 or April 20 (to be confirmed)
• Shifts: One position 1pm–1am, another 3pm–3am (to be confirmed in interview)
• Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience in a similar-sized facility
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Current certification in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• I9 or attestation form
• E-Verify or attestation
• 10-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• State-specific background checks for Texas (DPS Criminal History, Employee Misconduct Registry, Employability Status Check) within 30 days of start
• Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start and onsite drug screen during orientation
• Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific confidentiality, security, and compliance agreements prior to start
• Annual updates for background checks, competency exams, and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and age-specific competencies within 1 year of start
• References: 2 references within 3 years of start
• Resume or employment application copy required
