ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Cottonwood, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Float primarily between ICU and Med Surg Telemetry units as needed
• Work in a flex pool environment, adaptable to unit needs
• Adhere to facility quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration (BCMA)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask (N95) test within 1 year, updated annually; PAPR not accepted except in limited circumstances
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years or declination)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, 3-dose series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray required for past positives
• Annual flu vaccination or signed declination form (mask required if declined)
• COVID vaccination series or signed declination form
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
• Security question form and travel information verification must be completed prior to start
• Facility-specific job description form must be completed before start
• Professional attire and appearance policy acknowledgment required
• Workforce member confidentiality agreement and substance abuse screening policy acknowledgment required
• Photo for badge (clear headshot with preferred background) required

Scheduling and Work Conditions

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Facility may call off up to 6 shifts during the 13-week assignment
• Block scheduling considered based on unit needs and manager approval
• No on-call required
• Locals accepted; return-to-office restrictions require unit manager approval
• Units equipped with Liko lifts in most patient rooms
• Standard med surg/telemetry equipment used

This position is ideal for well-rounded ICU or Med Surg Telemetry nurses who are flexible and open to floating between units in a teaching hospital environment.
