Schedule & Shift Details

  • Shift: 12-hour days, 07:00 - 19:30
  • Patient Ratios: RN 1:3-4, CNA 1:6-13 (days), 1:10-13 (nights)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (not greater than every other)
  • Floating: Clinician may float within scope, including to another hospital location
  • Block scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Locals accepted
  • Pending license accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Absences over 2 weeks require approval

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience (within last year) in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Telemetry experience with management of telemetry
  • Experience with cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine, and other IMCU level of care drips
  • Rapid response team activation experience
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Certifications & Licenses

  • Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA
  • Preferred:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • Conscious sedation
  • Ventilator management

Unit Details

  • IMCU serves as overflow for Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU), including post-ablation, post-pacemaker, and post-angiography patients
  • Sheath credentialing or sheath removal not required but knowledge helpful
  • Recipient of the Gold Beacon Award from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN)
  • Nurses provide holistic care and collaborate with multiple disciplines

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Clear copy of valid driver’s license, passport, or state ID
  • Criminal background check within 90 days (7-year search, includes aliases, all states/counties, national sex offender, nationwide criminal, and MVR)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days
  • Education verification for non-licensed providers (not applicable for RN)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (can start pending)
  • Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tdap vaccine or facility-specific declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or documentation if positive)
    • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) titers or vaccines
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series (booster or declination if low titer)
    • Varicella titer or vaccines (second booster or declination if negative/equivocal)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (year-round requirement)
  • Fit mask testing onsite within first week of start (unless exempt)
  • Badge photo with white background required at least 8 days prior to start
  • Competency exams including dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation (passing score 85%)
  • Skills checklist specific to Telemetry/Stepdown nursing required

References & Work History

  • Two references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty
  • At least one supervisory reference within last 12 months

This position is not open to first-time travelers; prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required.
