Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU)
- Shift Options:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day: 07:00-19:30 or Night: 19:00-07:30)
- Straight night shifts available
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charting System: Cerner
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Scrubs: Not provided; solid colors only, no hospital logos
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Successful completion of EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccine or positive titer
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Skills checklist and competency exams updated within 3 years, including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
Additional Notes
- Aya Healthcare provides support for open license projects (license assistance)
- EKG exam remediation available if initial attempt is unsuccessful
- Must comply with facility policies on background checks, drug screening, and immunizations
- Float assignments may include units with lower acuity than Neuro ICU
