Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Encino, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (52 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Job Summary

Provide safe, direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). Responsible for patient/family teaching and guiding other nursing personnel. Communicate patient condition changes to physicians and respond quickly to clinical changes. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and abuse reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Current certifications (American Heart Association or Red Cross):

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (DCI/BVP) certificate
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
• COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or completed declination
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive immunity titer
• Annual Respirator Fit Test (3M 1860(s) mask or as directed)
• Hepatitis B: Record of 3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination
• Influenza Vaccine or declination (required Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• TB Test within 1 year of start date
• Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
• Varicella vaccination or immunity titer
• Tdap vaccination (declination not accepted in some states)
• Annual Physical/Health Statement confirming clearance to work
• National Criminal Background Check within 1 year of start date
• Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC (urine and saliva tests required for California) within 60 days of start
• Prime Core Competencies Exam: Minimum 80% score
• Prime Skills Checklist
• Prime Specialty Exam: Minimum 80% score
• Prime Color-blind Test (annual)
• Prime OIG Exclusion Search
• Prime Agency Attestation (completed after all credentials uploaded)
• Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
• Signed current Job Description (within the year)
• Workplace Violence Prevention (DCI/BVP) training

References and Documentation

• Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history (required at offer acceptance)
• Two professional references required, including one from a manager or direct supervisor
