Role Overview

First Assist role
Must be comfortable vein harvesting for CABG procedures
Assists with on-pump and off-pump CABG, VATs, and valve replacements

Required Qualifications

Valid CVOR First Assist license in Texas
CVOR First Assist experience within the last year
1 year of CVOR First Assist experience
Surgical First Assistant experience
NBSTSA
Drivers License or State ID
Education verification required
7-year background check required
7-year work history verification required
Complete application/resume required
Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

Required Certifications

ACLS
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
PALS
NRP, as applicable
Chemotherapy certification, as applicable
TNCC, as applicable
NIH Stroke Certification, as applicable
CPI, as applicable
Management of Assaultive Behavior, as applicable

Required Health Documents

Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit test within 1 year of start
Tdap within 10 years of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
TB questionnaire, if needed for positive TB results
Measles, mumps, and rubella immunity documentation
Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
