Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Day shift: 07:00 - 19:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Float within skillset required
Triage experience required
Must have worked in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (approx. 125 visits/day) within the past 8 months

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Successful completion of the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Prior travel nursing experience
Experience with Cerner EMR system

Additional Requirements

Background check including criminal history and education verification
Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech)
Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information

Work Environment

Emergency Department with high patient volume
Use of Cerner EMR system
Requires ability to work holidays and weekends on a rotating basis
Float assignments within skillset expected

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs with prior travel experience who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume ED setting.
