Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
  • Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Day shift: 07:00 - 19:30)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Float within skillset required
  • Triage experience required
  • Must have worked in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (approx. 125 visits/day) within the past 8 months

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Successful completion of the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Experience with Cerner EMR system

Additional Requirements

  • Background check including criminal history and education verification
  • Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
    • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Tech)
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information

Work Environment

  • Emergency Department with high patient volume
  • Use of Cerner EMR system
  • Requires ability to work holidays and weekends on a rotating basis
  • Float assignments within skillset expected

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs with prior travel experience who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume ED setting.
