Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown (HVTI-Stepdown Float Pool unit)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts only (Day/Night rotating shifts: 7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)
  • Shift Rotation: Shifts may vary to meet hospital operational needs; facility will try to honor preferred shifts but reserves the right to rotate.
  • Experience Required:
    • Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel.
    • Minimum 18 months of recent Cardiac Stepdown experience (travel experience accepted).
    • PCU/Progressive care experience preferred but not required.
  • Licensing: Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand.
  • Certifications Required:
    • AHA BLS & ACLS
    • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday.
  • Testing:
    • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication competency test during orientation; passing scores required.

Orientation & Training

  • Online training modules must be completed prior to start; these are high priority and cannot be delayed.
  • Pass/Fail ECG and medication testing completed onsite during orientation.
  • Facility uses Qualivis – Lotus system for submitting hours worked.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Identification: Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment.
  • Background Checks:
    • Comprehensive background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
    • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required within 48 hours of contract signing; must be updated annually. Facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam.
    • Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
    • Immunizations/vaccinations: Tdap (every 10 years), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or approved exemption.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
  • References: Two professional references from within one year of start, from a manager or supervisor.
  • Employment History: Must provide 3 years of prior work history including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment.
  • Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome; modules cannot be completed on a phone.
  • Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this facility may need to re-orient and re-complete modules.
  • Candidates must use their legal name in onboarding systems.
  • Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
  • Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; declinations are not accepted.
  • Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending as long as fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
