Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Perform diagnostic radiology procedures including CT and X-Ray following established guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and ensure radiation safety for both operator and patient.
  • Conduct routine radiographic studies with typical department volume of 270-290 scans per day.
  • Use GE and Toshiba/Cannon imaging equipment.
  • Work schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour day shifts (4x10s), including every other weekend and assigned holidays.
  • Call duties as assigned within staff rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio.
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Certifications

  • ARRT certification (CT and X-Ray).
  • BLS (AHA preferred, ARC or Military acceptable; RQI accepted).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) not specifically required for this role.
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.) not required unless specified by unit.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 2 years prior to start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions.
  • Negative TB test (2 PPDs, QGold, TSpot, or MTB) within 6 months of start.
  • Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year of start (if applicable).
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal.
    • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of disease.
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination form accepted.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required only for select units (not required for this role).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by specified deadlines.
  • Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start; marijuana testing required, no medical marijuana exceptions.

Background and Compliance

  • 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening.
  • Ohio-specific registries and offender searches required if applicable (mostly for home health/hospice roles).
  • Fingerprinting required onsite or at approved locations prior to or on first day of orientation.
  • Required to complete facility-specific agreements and confidentiality policies prior to start.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam within 7 days of signing, valid within 2 years of start.
  • Color blindness test required; must pass 100% online or submit for approval if failed.
  • Unit-specific competency exams required within 2 years of start.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.

Work Environment and Equipment

  • Level I Trauma Center environment.
  • Use of EPIC EMR system.
  • Charcoal grey scrubs required.
