Registered Nurse (OB/L&D) - Minnesota, Bemidji

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OB/L&D nursing experience, including postpartum care
• Active Minnesota RN license (temporary or pending licenses considered with potential start date adjustments)
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Experience with EPIC or other EMR systems
• Ability to work in Labor and Postpartum units
• Willingness to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed

Job Responsibilities

• Provide care for postpartum, stable antepartum, newborns, gynecology patients, and Med-Surg overflow
• May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
• Assist with circulating duties in Labor & Delivery (a plus)
• Float primarily as helping hands; expected to take Med-Surg patients occasionally

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, rotating day and night
• Includes weekends
• Assist in filling schedule vacancies due to onboarding, staff vacancies, or FMLA

Patient Load & Support Staff

• Average daily census: 5 mom/baby couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 gynecology, 2 labor, 4 SCN patients
• Support staff includes ward clerk (7am-7pm), CNA (Tues-Thurs), charge nurse/circulator, resource nurse, and LPN scrub nurse without assignments
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN standards:

  • 1:3 mom/baby couplets
  • 1:5 gynecology/Med-Surg patients
  • 1:3-4 pediatrics

Orientation & Unit Information

• Equipment and unit orientation provided on first day
• Equipment used: EPIC One Chart, Omnicell, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call Light System, Medfusion Pumps
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
• Must disclose if previously employed by this health system; prior employment requires a minimum 6-month gap before rehire
