Role Overview

Travel RN assignment in Med-Surg.
Unit: Med-Surg, Location 4S, Tower B, 4th floor.
24-bed unit with a 6:1 patient ratio.
36 hours per week.
12-week contract.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Med Surg (1 year of experience).
Med Surg experience within the last year.
Experience in an Acute Care setting.
Basic dysrhythmias.
BLS.

Preferred Qualifications

Worked at trauma center.

Unit Details

Day shift staffing includes 1 charge, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 PCTs, and 1 unit clerk.
Night shift staffing includes 1 charge, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), and 2 PCTs.
Typical equipment includes BLS and NIHSS.
EMR: Meditech.

Common Procedures / Responsibilities

PIV insertion, management, and removal.
Central line management and removal.
Foley insertion, management, and removal.
NG insertion, management, and removal.
Drain management and removal.
Wound care and ostomy management.
Continuous bladder irrigation.
Chest tube management.
EKG.

Equipment Used

Alaris IV pumps.
Hoyer and Sarah Steady.
Feeding pumps.
Welch Allyn Vital Sign Machines.
iMobile.
Vein Finder.
Virtual Admission RN (10a-10pm).

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs.
Black pants allowed.
