Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Assignment

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Primarily Day/Evening (P/A)
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Unit & Patient Population

Telemetry unit with 24 beds
Patient ratio: 4:1
Patient population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages ranging from young adult to elderly adult
Common diagnoses/treatments: Chest Pain, A-fib, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial), Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS)
Equipment used: Life Paks, Zoll, Masimo monitors
Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner (preferred experience)
May occasionally float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Neurological Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), and/or Surgical units

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Work Environment & Culture

Family-oriented unit
Scrub color: Any color allowed
No specific dress code restrictions

Additional Notes

Orientation is offered twice monthly
No call requirements
Trauma level: Not applicable
