Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Overview

  • Unit: Cath Lab – Interventional Labs
  • Beds: 3 Cath Labs (2 Dedicated Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1
  • Staffing: 3-4 person teams (2 Techs, 2 RNs ideal) including Lead Tech, RN, RCIS
  • Equipment: IVUS, Shockwave, DFR, FFR, Rotablator, IABP, Impella, Temporary Pacemaker (TVP)
  • Documentation System: EPIC Cupid
  • Scheduling: 4–10 hour shifts with call
  • Dress Code:
    • RN: Royal blue and black
    • Tech: Navy blue and black

Job Responsibilities & Procedures

  • Manage critical care drips (gtt management)
  • Perform procedures including:
    • Right and Left Heart Catheterization (RHC/LHC)
    • Complex Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
    • Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) interventions
    • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
    • Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR/Mitral Clips)
    • Watchman device placement
    • Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) and Atrial/Ventricular Septal Defect (ASD/VSD) closures
    • Temporary Pacemaker (TVP) placement
    • Impella CP & RP support
    • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) support

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Current RCIS-Tech certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Experience managing critical care drips (gtt management)
  • ICU experience
  • Emergency Room (ER) experience
