Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs routine and advanced imaging procedures, supports other imaging technologists as needed, and helps maintain smooth patient flow. The role may require working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a radiology technology program or equivalent
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT (N) or NMTCB
• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Texas
• BLS issued by American Heart Association

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot basic maintenance issues
• Participate in QA
• Resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system
• Participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within scope of licensure
• Maintain expected imaging competencies
• Observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures
• Maintain radiation safety protocol while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals
• Complete daily logs and periodic tests required by the license
• Ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS
• Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues as needed
• Report equipment malfunctions and follow up appropriately
• Perform other duties as assigned
