Unit Information

• Emergency Department with 37 beds, Level 2 Trauma designation
• Staff: 73 full-time equivalents
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 2 techs/paramedics, plus 5 mid-shift RNs and 2 mid-shift techs
  • Night Shift: Same as day shift
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients in zone
• Equipment: GE Monitors
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: MediTech

Job Description

• Work primarily in the Main Emergency Department and Pediatric ED
• Immediate start preferred with minimal PTO requests between June 14 and July 14 (no time off approved during this period)
• Ideal candidates have experience with HCA or MediTech systems
• Floating to hospital holding for admitted ED patients may be required
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs (top and bottom)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 4 weeks; no on-call duties

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
