Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care

Location: Utica, New York
Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Shift: Night (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 4 shifts of 12 hours (4x12)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 48
Unit Size: 64 beds (15 designated Neuro beds)
Patient Population: Adults (18 years and older)
Floating: Required


Job Description

  • Care for patients with diagnoses including neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, cardiovascular stepdown, and post-operative care.
  • Use specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo Vents.
  • Manage chronic ventilator patients who are unable to wean; respiratory therapist assistance available.
  • Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue.
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Documentation of travel experience required.
  • Active New York RN license.
  • Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Critical Care Course/ECCO (ACCN).
  • Must provide NURSYS report for license verification.
  • Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
  • Skills checklist matching specialty required.
  • Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be included at submission.

  • Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted.
  • Floating to other units may be required.
