RN Centralized Registry Float

Overview

• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Unit/department: Medical-surgical units
• Patient ratio: 1:5-6

Required Qualifications

• Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• BLS through AHA
• At least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience
• At least 1 year of experience at a like-sized facility (450+ beds)

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks

Float Scope

• Floats to other medical units only
• Floats to areas in greatest need

Orientation

• Jump Start orientation includes 1 day of general hospital orientation and approximately 5 days of nursing orientation
• Epic classes are included

Unit Details

• General medical-surgical nursing care
• Common patient populations include chronic illness, GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders
• Common procedures include colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries
• Skills and tasks include assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, EHR use, IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, heparin and insulin drips, and IV therapy management
• Equipment includes Epic, Pyxis machines, Accucheck blood glucose, Hospira IV pumps, SCDs, heating/cooling pads, and telemetry monitoring

• Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a reduced rate
• Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
