Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a Neuro ICU setting.
- Neuro ICU experience is required.
- Must be able to float to ICU, Intermediate Care (IMC), and Telemetry units as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- E-Verify compliance or attestation as applicable.
- Background checks including:
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire.
- Education verification (highest level of education must be verified).
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
- Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year of start.
- Required immunizations/vaccinations with proper documentation (no “per history” or similar notations accepted):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- Work history verification for the past 7 years.
- Complete application/resume required.
Additional Notes
- Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.
- Orientation and onboarding requirements must be met prior to start.
- Clear headshot photo required for badge issuance.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized Neuro ICU environment with a focus on critical neurological care during night shifts. Candidates should be prepared for floating responsibilities and meet all compliance and certification requirements.
