Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, every 3rd weekend required (3x12 hour shifts, 18:30–7:00)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

• Provide respiratory care services primarily in the Emergency Department and Special Care Nursery.
• No floating between units required.
• Must shave for mask fit testing; personal PAPRs/CAPRs are not allowed.
• Facility is an Adult Trauma Level III with 120 staffed beds.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• No parking fees for employees.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Schedule & Work Requirements

• Night shift with every 3rd weekend required.
• No on-call duties.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion.
• Local candidates within 70 miles radius are not accepted.
• Travelers may be required to participate in holiday and weekend rotations.
• Fit testing for respirators will be conducted onsite during orientation week; failure to shave for fit testing will result in cancellation.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months prior to start.
• Fit mask testing and OSHA Respirator Clearance required before start.
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• COVID vaccination series preferred.
• Drug screening with negative results within 12 months prior to start.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (for new candidates).
• Respiratory safety clearance must be completed prior to start.

Compliance & Documentation

• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace and nationwide search.
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID form required prior to start.
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and documentation.
• Confidentiality and security agreements must be signed before starting.
• Post-start orientation checklists must be completed and submitted.
• References and skills checklist required.

• Candidates must provide a government-issued photo ID.
• Photo for badge required unless exempted by facility.
• No floating between units; work limited to assigned areas.
• Travelers must comply with facility policies and complete all required training modules.
• No personal PAPRs or CAPRs allowed; facility provides necessary respiratory protection equipment.

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with travel contract experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a trauma hospital setting and managing respiratory care in emergency and neonatal/pediatric environments.
