Registered Nurse - MedSurg / Telemetry
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must pass EKG (Dysrhythmia) competency testing before start (required for all MedSurg nurses regardless of sub-specialty).
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month.
- Patient ratio: 1:7-8.
- Float required.
- EMR system: Cerner; Medication system: Omnicell.
- No holiday time off requests accommodated for major holidays (e.g., Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day). Holiday time off requests may be addressed onsite after arrival.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - must be current and uploaded as actual certificate (no screenshots/photos).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for all RN candidates.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Must be completed within 12 months prior to start with a score of 80% or higher (not required for L&D, Psych, LTC, Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum, Transitional Care units).
Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
- Minimum of 1 year of MedSurg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MedSurg/Telemetry).
