Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience: 2 years of infusion experience in an outpatient setting, with infusion experience within the last year
• Licensure: Valid RN license in California
• Certifications: BLS issued by the American Heart Association; ONS/ONCC

Key Clinical Experience

• Administration of chemotherapy, including continuous infusion, IV push, oral administration, and monitoring
• Chemotherapy-related safety and handling, including cytotoxic spill management and body fluid handling after chemotherapy
• Central line and vascular access care, including ports, central line blood draws, implanted line care, PICC line care, and starting IVs
• Infusion therapy management, including pump management, hydration, multivitamins, and related medications
• Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
• Patient education and support
• Management of oncology-related symptoms and complications, including neutropenic precautions, nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, sepsis, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, and spinal cord compression

Preferred Experience

• Care of patients with various cancer types
• Administration of coagulation factors
• EPIC documentation
• SBAR communication
