Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
• Work 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (either day or night shifts).
• Shifts may rotate to meet operational needs; facility will attempt to honor shift preferences.
• Must work at least every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience of at least 1.5 years, with experience within the last year.
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Certifications & Testing

• Baseline competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation at orientation.
• Certifications must be current and renewed if expiring within 30 days of assignment start.
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (no declinations accepted)
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually.

Background & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check including 7-year FCRA compliant search, updated annually or after breaks in service.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months, updated annually.
• Education verification required.
• References: 2 professional references from recent employment within 1 year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).

Orientation & Onboarding

• Completion of online training modules prior to start; must be done on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Modules include mandatory training videos and tests; skipping videos will lock access.
• Photo for badge required.
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided for exam preparation.
• Candidates with less than 6 months gap from previous assignment at the facility may be exempt from some orientation requirements.

Additional Information

• Must comply with facility policies on holiday work and shift rotations.
• Documentation and certifications must be kept current and submitted timely.
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
• Candidates must maintain legal name consistency across all documents.
• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.

Shift Details

• Rotating shifts:

  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week).
