<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 12, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN for a night shift position requiring NICU III and PICU skills experience and an active NJ or Compact license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Based in a Level III NICU with float responsibilities to PICU, PEDS, and Mother/Baby units (no maternal care required)</li><li>Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 8:00 AM), 37.5 hours per week</li><li>Every other weekend (Sat/Sun) required</li><li>Patient assignments based on skill set with ratios varying by acuity</li><li>Charting system: EPIC</li><li>Cares for neonates including those under 24-28 weeks gestation</li><li>Performs ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active NJ or Compact RN license required</li><li>BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP highly preferred</li><li>Minimum 1.5 years of NICU experience required</li><li>Documented NICU III and PICU skills experience required in employment history</li><li>EPIC charting experience</li><li>Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central/implanted line care, UAC/UVC management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care</li><li>Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube management</li><li>Experience administering IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Provide direct patient care within the NICU and float to other pediatric and neonatal units as needed</li><li>Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 designated holidays</li><li>Scrub color requirement: navy pants with a pediatric-themed top</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the same rate</li></ul>
