Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Massena, New York
• Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Schedule: 7 on / 7 off
• Call required
• No local candidates within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic

Experience / Skills

• Adult critical care
• Emergency department
• Extubation
• Nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning
• Pulmonary hygiene
• Sputum specimen collection
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Medication and therapy support including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, aerosol setup, MDI, T-piece, trach collar, HFNC, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
• Weaning from mechanical ventilation
• ABG interpretation

Unit / Equipment Details

• Small community hospital respiratory therapy department
• Manages emphysema, asthma, and other respiratory disease processes
• Provides non-invasive ventilation, high-flow oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, ABG draws and analysis, and chest physiotherapy
• Required ventilators: Servo I, LTV 1200

Additional Notes

• EPIC familiarity required
• Preferred equipment experience: Phillips V60 BiPAP, BiPAP Vision, and Teleflex high-flow nasal cannulas
• Contract length: 13 weeks
