Physical Therapist Assistant

Location: Stockton, California
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)

Job Summary

Assist the Physical Therapist in providing restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services to frail or elderly participants both at the center and in home settings. Work collaboratively with the rehabilitation team to implement individualized treatment plans aimed at maximizing participant independence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer treatment programs established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
• Coordinate with rehabilitation team members to implement participant-specific activities and programs.
• Schedule participant treatments, clinical visits, and manage billing.
• Deliver and document physical therapy interventions including muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance activities.
• Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers on therapeutic equipment use and care.
• Track and manage maintenance of therapy equipment.
• Monitor participant condition and promptly report changes to the Physical Therapist or interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in end-of-life care coordination under supervision.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect participant and team information.
• Follow organizational policies, participate in quality improvement, staff training, and meetings.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and team regarding workload and priorities.
• Complete all mandated trainings and physical health screenings.
• Adapt flexibly to evolving business needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California
• Minimum of 2 years of Physical Therapy Assistant experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with geriatric patients
