Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Location: Olney, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include patient assessment, development and implementation of care plans, documentation, and ensuring patient and staff safety within the Emergency Department (ED).


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
  • Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, and visitors to promote a healing environment.
  • Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ECRN (Certified Emergency Communications RN)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of nursing experience specifically in Emergency Department or critical care settings.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
