Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Description
- Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the NICU unit scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to neonatal intensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for use by the healthcare team.
- Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
- Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions through continuous evaluation.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide constructive feedback to support professional development.
- Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for improvement.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
- Monitor intake and output of neonatal patients.
- Assist mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care.
- Administer medications using proper barcode scanning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and report on patient assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Illinois RN license in good standing.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association
