Location
- Freeport, Illinois
Contract Length
- 18 weeks
Shift
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation
- Floating may be required to ICU or Tele for Med-Surg overflow
Required Qualifications
- Illinois RN license
- BLS certification
- 2 years of recent experience
- First-time travelers are accepted
Unit Details
- Med-Surg unit with patients across three related units
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio on nights: 1:5-6
- Patients may be on telemetry, but RNs do not read telemetry
- Charge nurse has patients
- CNA support is available
- Respiratory therapy manages BiPAP, high flow, and Vapotherm
Common Patient Population
- Post-operative general, orthopedic, and podiatry
- General medical: diabetes, pneumonia, CHF, COPD
- Cellulitis
- CBI, BiPAP, peritoneal dialysis, surgical drains, wound vacs
Orientation
- 2 shifts of orientation
Additional Notes
- Professional scrubs in any color are allowed
