Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Acute Long Term Care (Nights)

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Summary

The RN provides direct and indirect nursing care to residents in a therapeutic environment. Units include:

• 3 East: 31-bed specialized unit for Alzheimer’s/dementia residents, focusing on tailored care using verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and managing difficult behaviors as valid communication.
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: 42-bed unit providing short-term skilled nursing and rehab services for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short-term illnesses or injuries. Nursing duties include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment/management.
• 3 West: 42-bed long-term care unit providing care for residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Long Term Care experience
• Long Term Care experience within the last year
• BLS certification

Additional Information

• Candidates with prior licensure issues will not be considered.
• Previous employees are not eligible for this position.
• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
• Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• BLS/BCLS certification required.
• Prior travel experience is required.
