Unit Information
- Department: Clinical Laboratory (Microbiology testing for the Denver market)
- Number of Staff: 24
- Shifts:
- Day Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM): 6 techs
- Mid Shift (9:30 AM - 8:00 PM): 1 tech
- Evening Shift (12:30 PM - 9:00 PM, rotating weekends): 4 techs
- Night Shift (9:30 PM - 5:00 AM): 2 techs
- Equipment Used: Virtuos, Liat, Cepheid, Verigene, Biofire, manual gram stains, manual plating
- EMR System: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Microbiology STAT testing
- Gram stains
- Culture set ups
- Culture reading
Required Qualifications
- Medical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Medical Technologist experience within the last year
- ASCP certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
