Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position

Location: Highlands, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Unit Overview

• Rehab Services unit with 24 beds, focused on rehabilitation care.
• Patient ratio: approximately one patient per hour.
• Staffing includes 2 CNAs per shift and a rehab tech available 20 hours per week.
• Critical Care access hospital with predominantly swing bed patients.
• Equipment: fully equipped rehab gym with various equipment, including all lift equipment.
• Documentation system: Cerner.
• Floating: may float to an adjacent living center within the same building if needed.
• New rehab gym features a fully functioning kitchen and laundry setup, with the ability to provide outdoor therapy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients admitted to the hospital with a strong rehabilitation focus.
• Emphasis on treatment rather than evaluation only.
• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments as part of the unit’s procedures.

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Dress code: scrubs (any color).
• Schedule is set Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
