MICU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 6:45p–7:15a
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Friday/Saturday schedule noted
- No call
- One winter holiday required
- Block scheduling can be considered
- First-time travelers are welcome
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Float Scope
- May float to ICU, intermediate, and telemetry units
Other Notes
- RTO is due at time of submission; RTO after submission will not be accepted
- Charting system: EPIC
- Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs

Pros
Some of the nurses in the MICU are some of the best people I have ever met. Very high acuity patients but I learned a lot. Amazing teamwork and camaraderie
Cons
The facility is literally falling apart and staffing is terrible sometimes. Management is not as great and supportive as it used to be. Patient population can be difficult to work with (lots of ETOH, withdrawal, ODs, etc)
