Step Down RN Travel Contract
Overview
- Location: Portland, Oregon
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Float: May float between units and to other facilities as needed
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Block scheduling: Not required
- Ratios: 1:3 and 1:4
Role Focus
- This role is for IMCU/Step Down RNs, not telemetry-only RNs.
- Experience caring for higher-acuity patients is expected, including:
- Trach and ventilator patients
- Critical care drips/titrated infusions
- Intermediate care/step-down level patients
- Complex cardiac and respiratory patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- Experience caring for tracheostomy and ventilator patients
- Experience with critical care drips and titrated infusions
- Experience caring for complex cardiac patients
- Experience caring for complex respiratory patients
Additional Notes
- Travelers may be asked to float to other units based on skill set.
- If floating consecutive shifts, a hotel may be offered.
- Parking is free.
- Epic is used for charting.
