Job Overview
Seeking an experienced CT Technologist to work in a Level I trauma center’s CT department. The role involves performing a variety of CT procedures in a fast-paced emergency room setting with emergent inpatient needs.
Work Environment
- Level I Trauma Center
- Stroke Accredited
- Inpatient, ER, Operating Room, Adult ICU
- Community hospital setting
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Works every third weekend
- On-call approximately once every 10 weeks
Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, and brain perfusion
- Operate CT equipment to ensure high-quality imaging
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain patient safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and comply with regulatory standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent situations
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- BLS and ARRT certifications required prior to start
- Background check: 7-year criminal history including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Physical exam: Documentation within 1 year confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap (adult dose)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles (valid for entire assignment length)
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
Background & Credentialing
- Must pass a comprehensive background check including criminal history, sex offender registry, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and education accreditation verification
- Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) must be completed within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days
- Education must be from accredited programs relevant to the specialty
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership
Additional Notes
- Parking permits available for purchase but not included in employment
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, compliance, and fraud/waste/abuse reporting
- Competency exams and unit-specific training may be required prior to or during assignment
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity trauma center environment with night shifts and on-call responsibilities.
